It’s at times like these we need the organising power of the Disasters Emergency Committee. The scale of the devastation in the Philippines is truly horrifying. A few years back I visited Cebu with the British Council to see the work of charities and social enterprises. I met an impressive bunch of committed and dedicated staff and volunteers. So like many of you I am making a contribution.
This puts into perspective the nasty attack on DEC over
August. DEC is a brilliant example of charities working together in a common
cause, something for the Charity Commission to commend perhaps!?
