These listening events are for patients, service users and voluntary and community sector leaders to have their say in the listening exercise.

Sir Stephen, I'm afraid your post very much mischaracterises the nature of some of these events, they are not all "open", and they are certainly not all open to "patients, service users and voluntary and community sector leaders to have their say in the listening exercise" as you claim.
For instance, the event in the North East is open only to voluntary and community sector leaders, not to patients and service users:
The event in the East Midlands is "by invitation only to network members":
The event in the West Midlands is open only to "partnership and member organisations engaging in the Health and Social Care agenda":
Are ANY of the events actually open to patients and service users, or is this just confirmation of many people's suspicions that the listening exercise is a bit of a sham?
